Help continue to build a community through the art with #GivingTuesday2020!

Starkville has a thriving arts and culture community… theatre, symphony, film, art education programs, art exhibits, the Cotton District Arts Festival, live music, street pianos, Sunday Funday, public murals, and so much more!

Although 2020 has tested all of us, SAAC has continued to provide art activities and events in Starkville including:

  • Stay At Home Fest MS in collaboration with the Del Rendon Foundation to provide more than $4,000 in micro-grants to local artists and musicians since April 2020.
  • Art Boxes: In September and October 2020, SAAC distributed more than 400 Art Boxes to youth in Starkville and Maben, as well as through our Art Partners sites at Pecan Acres and the J.L. King Center.
  • Virtual art exhibitions: To accommodate the lack of in-person art galleries, SAAC launched 2 virtual art exhibits on our website. In early December, our annual Winter Exhibition will be a HYBRID show with works on display in the lobby of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership as well as on our website.
  • 3 Public Murals: With the support of local businesses, individual donors, Main Street Association, the City of Starkville, and our artist community, these murals have brought a pop of color, reminding visitors that our community has a strong vibrant art scene.

If you’d like to help SAAC, please consider donating for #GivingTuesday. If we aren’t your charity of choice, then please select one of the several other fantastic arts organizations here in Starkville. Feel free to share on social media to let your friends and the community know that you support the arts.

Don't forget that you can also support SAAC and most other local nonprofits all year through Kroger Rewards, Amazon Smile, Facebook Birthday Fundraisers, and the Paypal Giving Fund. For more details, visit the Donate & Help page of our website.
