An Introduction to Clay!
Join us for our third clay workshop of "Claypril" where we'll be hosting a clay workshop each week of April taught by Bonnie Brumley.
When: Wednesday, April 17, 2024, 5:30-8:30 pm
Where: Starkville Area Arts Council, 122 E Main Street, Starkville MS 39759
Learn how to make planters! Be introduced to various decoration techniques, pick out glazes, and pick up your works once they're fired! (Free plant included)
This workshop is $40 per person and is limited to 20 participants. AGES 16 & UP
About your teacher: Bonnie Brumley
"I'm a ceramic artist living in Starkville, MS. I was drawn to clay pretty quickly after my first in-depth encounter with it at Mississippi State University in 2013. I find the material, and all the accompanying processes, quite humbling and infinitely intriguing. It's constantly challenging me and requiring me to gather new information. I enjoy the small, sometimes meticulous details that can go into a finished piece. Texture also plays a large role in most of my work. I often try to find discarded items, things from thrift stores, or nature to experiment with on my surfaces. In my functional work, I aim to create pieces that will be not only lovely to look at, but also interesting to hold and feel in the user's hand
